About Body Proof:

Body Proof is an experiment - in touring, creation, and originality - that we are working on through transactional and non-transactional residencies.

The first iteration of this experiment took place last October in a residency.  Five artists were to learn two dances from their background. The definition of background, heritage, location and understanding was left open to their own interpretation. Those dances were taught to the other artists. Before the public dance party, the artists spent some time making up their own dance to teach to anyone of any age who came to the party.

As participants learn the dances and the names, there is the random possibility that the delight at one of the dances means that it is passed on at other parties and the name will seed itself around the world.
