Welcoming Justin

We’re delighted to welcome Justin Calvadores to The Impossible Has Already Happened team.

Justin (they/them) is a contemporary dance artist of Filipino cultural heritage based in so-called “Vancouver” BC, the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.

At the age of 16 they were introduced to dance through the Filipino hip hop dance community. They attended two years of classical training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (2012-14), and graduated at Arts Umbrella in 2017. As an emerging artist they joined Ballet BC under the direction of Emily Molnar (2017) where they toured locally and internationally on stages such as The Laguna Playhouse, Sadler Wells, and the Autostadt Theatre Wolfsburg, Germany. In 2019 Justin joined Ballet Edmonton, performing work by Serge Bennathan, Shay Kuebler, Karissa Berry and Wen Wei Wang.

In recent years they have created work with Mile Zero Dance, Wen Wei Dance, Inverso Productions, FakeKnot and Jill Henis to name a few. Currently they continue to create work with Dumb Instrument Dance, MascallDance and The Falling Company.
