WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AT BODY ORIGINS

MascallDance warmly welcomes Mariko Tanabe, visiting from Tiohtià:ke, the island of Montreal, unceded ancestral lands of the Kanyen’kehà:ka (Mohawk) people, A dancer and creator at heart, Mariko brings decades of leadership in dance and somatics to her private practice and teaching, supporting individuals of all backgrounds in creative growth, embodied presence, and ancestral connection.

WHEN YOU COME:

  • The studio is open for one hour before the workshop, and half an hour after. We welcome you to time your arrival, arriving early and warming down after, to ease into the space and your body.

  • The Dance Centre is located at the corner of Granville and Davie in downtown Vancouver.

  • Transit is available to the location. Street parking is available in the area.

  • The lobby entrance is on the north side of Davie Street.

  • Each day when you arrive, please register at the lobby front desk, and confirm with front desk staff which studio the workshop is located in that day, as this may be subject to change.

    WHAT TO BRING:

  • Wear comfortable, warm clothes.

  • Bring

    • a mat.

    • a blanket,

    • pillow,

    • notebook

    • pen.  

  • Paper and drawing utensils will be provided. 

    ABOUT THE SPACE:

  • The facility is wheelchair accessible, providing elevator and stairs.

  • Gender neutral washrooms are available.  

  • Please refrain from wearing scented soaps and fragrances to keep the space comfortable for those with sensitivities.
